Basketball Recap: South Stanly Sets Scoring Season-High Against West Stanly

South Stanly was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 28th straight loss dating back to last season. They lost to the West Stanly Colts on the road by a 63-47 margin. One positive for the Rowdy Rebel Bulls, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.

Despite the defeat, South Stanly saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Kanija Colson almost dropped a double-double on 23 points and nine boards. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Colson has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Akerria Robinson, who posted five points and ten boards.

South Stanly's loss dropped their record down to 0-7. As for West Stanly, their win bumped their record up to 6-3.

South Stanly will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Forest Hills at 6:00 p.m. on January 3, 2025. As for West Stanly, they will venture away from home to square off against Central Academy at 6:00 p.m. on December 20th.
