Softball Recap: Salesian College Preparatory Wins Going Away Against Albany

Salesian College Preparatory never let their opponents score on Wednesday. They blew past the Albany Cougars 10-0. Considering the Pride have won five matchups by more than nine runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

DeAmor Coleman made a splash while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out ten over five innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, Salesian College Preparatory got a big performance out of Matea Gaddies, who scored a run while going 3-for-4. Valeria Cuevas was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and one double.

Salesian College Preparatory always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .548. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Salesian College Preparatory is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.3 runs over those games. As for Albany, their loss dropped their record down to 4-6.
