Softball Preview: Johnson Warriors vs. West Campus Warriors

Johnson is 1-6 against West Campus since March of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Johnson Warriors will head out on the road to square off against the West Campus Warriors at 4:00 p.m. Johnson is strutting in with some hitting muscle, as they've averaged 12.8 runs per game this season.

Johnson put the finishing touches on their seventh blowout victory of the season on Thursday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand Foothill a 16-0 shutout. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Johnson.

Anissa Zavala made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (she also didn't allow any walks). Zavala was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-2.

Moriah Williams was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-2 with a triple and an RBI. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one triple the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Miriya Yeung, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2.

Johnson's victory bumped their record up to 7-5. As for West Campus, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-5.
