Baseball Game Preview: Heritage Academy Eagles vs. Ludlow Panthers

The Heritage Academy Eagles will head out to challenge the Ludlow Panthers at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Heritage Academy has four straight wins, Ludlow has seven straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

On Wednesday, Heritage Academy was able to grind out a solid victory over Augusta, taking the game 4-1.

Bob Brown made a splash no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 17 over seven innings pitched. Those 17 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, earning one run and two stolen bases.

Brown wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Gavin Hensley, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI.

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Ludlow and Dayton meet (two straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Thursday. The Panthers might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 6-2 to the Greendevils, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior.

Heritage Academy now has a winning record of 10-9. As for Ludlow, their loss dropped their record down to 8-13.
