Recap: Roma Gladiators vs. Mission Veterans Memorial Patriots
It was a good run, but The Roma Gladiators unfortunately witnessed the end of their nine-game winning streak on Friday. They fell just short of Mission Veterans Memorial by a score of 38-35. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Roma in their matchups with Mission Veterans Memorial: they've now lost eight in a row.
Braden Luedeker was his usual excellent self, rushing for 162 yards on only eight carries, while also throwing for 240 yards and two touchdowns on only 15 passes. Mission Veterans Memorial also got a significant boost from Edward Martinez, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 92 yards.
Roma's defeat dropped their record down to 9-1. As for Mission Veterans Memorial, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a massive bump to their 6-4 record this season.
Roma will head out on the road to face off against Gregory-Portland at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Gregory-Portland will be looking to keep their five-game home win streak alive. Mission Veterans Memorial will take on Valley View at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
