Woodstock and Genoa-Kingston are an even 3-3 against one another since January of 2017, but not for long. The Woodstock Blue Streaks will welcome the Genoa-Kingston Cogs at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.

On Friday, Woodstock lost to Johnsburg at home by a 45-26 margin. The loss continues a trend for the Blue Streaks in their matchups with the Skyhawks: they've now lost three in a row.

Meanwhile, Genoa-Kingston posted their biggest victory since January 13th on Thursday. Everything went their way against Rock Falls as Genoa-Kingston made off with a 57-37 win. Given the Cogs' advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 257th, while the Rockets are ranked 531st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Genoa-Kingston is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 17-12 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.5 points over those games. As for Woodstock, they now have a losing record at 13-14.

Woodstock came up short against Genoa-Kingston when the teams last played back in December of 2022, falling 48-35. Can Woodstock avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
