Baseball Recap: Valley Heights Comes Up Short

Valley Heights was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 4-3 heartbreaker at the hands of Doniphan West. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against Doniphan West this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 4-2 on Monday.

Valley Heights saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brady DeWalt, who went 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Another was Wyatt Dummermuth, who got on base in two of his three plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.

Valley Heights' defeat dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Doniphan West, the victory (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 9-1.

Coming up, Valley Heights will face off against Marysville at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Doniphan West, they will take on Blue Valley on Thursday.
