Basketball Recap: Steinbrenner Skates Past Jefferson with Ease

Steinbrenner had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 45.5 points) and they went ahead and made it five on Tuesday. They really took it to the Jefferson Dragons for the full four quarters, racking up a 68-28 victory. The Warriors have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 14 contests by 24 points or more this season.

Steinbrenner got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Sarah Coble out in front who almost dropped a double-double on 17 points and nine rebounds. Coble's evening made it four games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Naomi Parker, who went 6 of 14 en route to 17 points along with seven assists and five boards.

Steinbrenner smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 25 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've posted since back in January of 2024.

Despite the loss, Jefferson had strong showings from Amaris Dominguez, who posted 12 points, and Damaria Pitcher, who put up nine points.

Steinbrenner pushed their record up to 16-1 with the victory, which was their eighth straight on the road. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 28.4 points per game. As for Jefferson, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-7.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Steinbrenner and Academy of the Holy Names will face off at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday without much rest having both just played. Steinbrenner's defense has only allowed 29 points per game this season, so Academy of the Holy Names' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Jefferson, they and Plant City will face off at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday without much rest having both just played.
