            Basketball Recap: Winslow Bulldogs vs. Show Low Cougars        
        
		
        
        
            Winslow lost against Show Low back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result  on Tuesday. The Winslow Bulldogs fell to the Show Low Cougars  49-43. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage  in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings  (they are ranked 144th, while the Cougars are ranked 22nd).

Winslow's  loss shouldn't obscure the performances of  Taylin Puhuhefvaya, who  posted ten points along with eight  boards and seven  steals, and  Kaitlyn Belone, who  went 6 for 13  en route to 17  points and three  steals. That's the most  steals  Puhuhefvaya has posted since back in November of 2024.  Ayla Curley also deserves some recognition as  she  grabbed her first  steal of the season.
 Even though they lost, Winslow was working as a unit and  finished the game with 13  assists. That's a new  trend for them: they were averaging 3.4  assists per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 matches they've averaged 7.7.
 It was another big night for  Raquel Wilson, who  went 9 of 13  on her way to 24  points in addition to five  rebounds and five  steals for Show Low. Wilson is  crushing it when it comes to  steals: she's   grabbed at least two every time she's  taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was  Reese Perkins, who  scored seven points and three  steals.
Winslow dropped their record down to 4-16 with the  defeat, which was their sixth straight  on the road. As for Show Low, the  win (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 18-5.
 Winslow didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next  contest,  a  56-33  loss against Snowflake on the 30th. As for Show Low, they also  wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next  game,  a  49-29  victory against Blue Ridge on the 29th.
