Washougal strolled past Fort Vancouver with points to spare, taking the game 55-40. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Washougal.
Washougal's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Mather Minnis, who almost dropped a triple-double on 11 points, 11 rebounds, and nine steals. That's the first time this season that Minnis pulled down eight or more rebounds. Holden Bea was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 12 points and 11 rebounds.
Washougal's win bumped their record up to 6-9. As for Fort Vancouver, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost ten of their last 12 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-13 record this season.
Washougal won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Union at 1:00 p.m. on January 27th. Union has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Fort Vancouver, they will head out on the road to challenge Woodland at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Both teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with four consecutive losses apiece.
