Baseball Game Preview: Princeton Tigers vs. Big Lake Hornets

The Princeton Tigers will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against the Big Lake Hornets at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Princeton is coming home looking for redemption after taking a loss in their road opener. They fell just short of Cambridge-Isanti by a score of 2-1 on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Big Lake put their dominant pitchers on display in the team's fifth consecutive shutout on Tuesday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand North Branch a 7-0 shutout.

Brendan Goedker was incredible, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 3-for-4. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in doubles (two). Another player making a difference was Cooper Cusick, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Princeton took their win against Big Lake in their previous meeting back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 11-1 score. Do the Tigers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Hornets turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
