Basketball Recap: Xavier Mosley Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Giles County

There's no place like home for Marshall County, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They took down the Giles County Bobcats 66-52 on Tuesday. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 73-61 back in January.

Marshall County's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Xavier Mosley, who went 7 for 8 en route to 15 points. That's the most points Mosley has posted since back in December of 2024. Marcus Oneal was another key player, going 5 of 7 on his way to 13 points.

Marshall County has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 16-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 74.5 points per game. As for Giles County, their loss dropped their record down to 14-9.

Marshall County and Giles County should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Tennessee Rankings. Marshall County (ranked 102nd) will meet Central Magnet (ranked 370th) at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Marshall County is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 70.7 points per game this season. Meanwhile, Giles County will challenge Franklin County at 6:00 p.m. on Friday up 188 places (139 vs. 327).
