Softball Game Preview: Notre Dame Academy Rebels vs. Maynard Tigers

The Notre Dame Academy Rebels will face off against the Maynard Tigers at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Wednesday, Notre Dame Academy was able to grind out a solid win over Grafton, taking the game 12-7. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Rebels.

Mila Aldrin made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out ten batters over 4.1 innings while giving up three earned (and three unearned) runs off five hits (and only one walk). Aldrin was also big at the plate, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one stolen base and two RBI. Those four hits gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Notre Dame Academy got a massive performance out of Molly Parisi, who went 2-for-4 with six RBI, three runs, and one double. Another player making a difference was Abby Spaulding, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and three runs.

Meanwhile, Maynard took care of business in their home opener (barely) on Monday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 7-6 victory over Nashoba Regional.

Maynard let Elizabeth Schmidt and Ryleigh Raschi run wild. Schmidt went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run, while Raschi went 2-for-4 with three runs and one stolen base. Schmidt is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games she's played dating back to last season. Lily Harrison was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

Notre Dame Academy couldn't quite finish off Maynard when the teams last played back in April of 2024 and fell 5-3. Will the Rebels have more luck at home instead of on the road? Come back here after the game to get an analysis of the match and other softball content.
