They were the victim of a rough 62-36 defeat at the hands of the Chargers. Leah Mitchell and A'maya Holton certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Mitchell scored 12 points along with four steals, while Holton scored nine points along with seven steals and six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Emery Espinoza, who scored seven points.
East Central struggled to work together and finished the game with only four assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Churchill posted 15 assists.
Churchill's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Rakiya Nelson led the charge by scoring 19 points. Another player making a difference was Ava Fernandez, who scored 13 points along with seven rebounds and five assists.
