Volleyball Recap: Piedmont Comes Up Short

Piedmont lost against Bishop O'Dowd on October 7th and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Highlanders took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Dragons. The Highlanders have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-11, 25-18, 20-25, 25-15.

Despite the loss, Piedmont saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Olivia Stevens had 21 digs and six assists. Stevens is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in each of the last 15 games she's played.

Piedmont's defeat dropped their record down to 9-11. As for Bishop O'Dowd, they have been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 18-14 record this season.

Piedmont and Bishop O'Dowd are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. The Highlanders will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Urban at 7:00 p.m. As for Bishop O'Dowd, they will venture away from home to challenge Windsor at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
