Baseball Game Preview: Jensen Beach Falcons vs. Vero Beach Indians

Jensen Beach is 1-6 against Vero Beach since April of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Falcons will head out to face off against the Indians at 6:00 p.m.

Jensen Beach is headed into Tuesday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their seventh straight game on Thursday. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 4-2 heartbreaker at the hands of Martin County. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Falcons have suffered since March 7th.

Jensen Beach got a good showing from John Gillen, who didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched. Gillen also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because the Falcons are 2-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 6-13 otherwise.

At the plate, Jensen Beach saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Will Rader, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI.

Meanwhile, Vero Beach waltzed into their game on Monday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They never let the Maroons get on the board and left with a 10-0 victory. Considering the Indians have won eight contests by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Jace Romans was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-2. Jordan Tomas also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Vero Beach always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .577. The last time their OBP was this high was back in February.

Jensen Beach's loss dropped their record down to 8-14. As for Vero Beach, their record now sits at 19-1.

Jensen Beach couldn't quite finish off Vero Beach in their previous meeting back in April of 2023 and fell 4-2. Can the Falcons avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
