Preview: Patapsco Patriots vs. Dulaney Lions
The Patapsco Patriots will head out on the road to take on the Dulaney Lions at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Patapsco has struggled recently with three losses in a row, while Dulaney will arrive with three straight victories.
Patapsco suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Wednesday. They were beaten by Pikesville 79-33. Patapsco was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 43-18.
Meanwhile, Dulaney scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Monday. They were the clear victor by a 62-40 margin over Milford Mill Academy. Dulaney has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four matches by 22 points or more this season.
Patapsco's loss was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 3-10. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 26.8 points per game. As for Dulaney, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 8-2 record this season.
Patapsco was taken down by Dulaney 55-9 in their previous matchup back in February of 2019. Can Patapsco avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
