Basketball Recap: Dallas Tanis' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Veritas Christian Academy over Abundant Life Academy

Veritas Christian Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They took a 54-44 hit to the loss column at the hands of Abundant Life Academy. Veritas Christian Academy was not able to repeat the success they had when they faced Abundant Life Academy earlier this season, when they won 47-29.

Veritas Christian Academy lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Dallas Tanis, who posted 23 points and eight rebounds. That's the most boards Tanis has posted since back in February of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Timothy Hawkswell, who scored ten points and five rebounds.

Even though they lost, Veritas Christian Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 24 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've managed all season.

Abundant Life Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Duncan Oduro led the charge by going 8 for 15 en route to 18 points along with five boards and four steals. Another player making a difference was Josh Amoah, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds.

Veritas Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 8-8. As for Abundant Life Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a massive bump to their 7-5 record this season.

Veritas Christian Academy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 71-49 defeat against Gilead on the 6th. As for Abundant Life Academy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 62-36 loss against Belleville on the 5th.
