Brother Rice faced Lincoln-Way East in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Crusaders never let the Griffins get on the board and left with a 4-0 win. The victory was nothing new for the Crusaders as they're now sitting on 15 straight.

The result came thanks to Danny Sheehan's shutout, as he gave up just three hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Gavin Triezenberg was excellent, going 3-for-4 with two doubles and two RBI. That's the most doubles he has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Nolan Ramoley, who went 1-for-3 with one home run.

Brother Rice's win was their tenth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-1. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.1 runs on average over those games. As for Lincoln-Way East, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 13-4.

Coming up, Brother Rice will host Andrean at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Lincoln-Way East, they will venture away from home to take on Lincoln-Way Central at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Knights will roll in looking for their eighth straight win, something the Griffins surely won't give up without a fight.
