Baseball Game Preview: Clinton Central Bulldogs vs. Clinton Prairie Gophers

The Clinton Central Bulldogs will challenge the Clinton Prairie Gophers at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Clinton Central is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They walked away with an 8-5 victory over Carroll. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Bulldogs.

Meanwhile, Clinton Prairie posted their closest win since May 10th on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 12-10 victory over Rossville. Clinton Prairie's win was all the more impressive since the Hornets were averaging only 3.93 runs allowed on the season.

Wyatt Harshbarger was excellent, going 2-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since May 8th. Malachi Corbin was another key player, going 1-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Clinton Central's victory bumped their record up to 11-12. As for Clinton Prairie, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-7 record this season.

Clinton Central might still be hurting after the 11-0 defeat they got from Clinton Prairie in their previous meeting on May 8th. Can the Bulldogs avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
