Volleyball Recap: Scottsburg Warriors vs. Henryville Hornets
Scottsburg extended their losing streak to five on Thursday, dropping them down to 1-5. They came up short against the Henryville Hornets, falling 3-0. The Warriors were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Hornets apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in August of 2024.
Olivia Spellman paced Scottsburg's offense, picking up eight kills. Spellman got some help from Taren James and her 13 assists. Jules Paris controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.
As for Henryville, the win got them back to even at 1-1. They not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since September 25, 2024 (when they won 3-0).
Leading Henryville to victory were Ella Logsdon and Lylia Martin. Logsdon had 12 kills, six blocks, and five digs, while Martin had 32 assists and three digs. Emma Hargis was another key player, getting nine kills and two aces.
Looking ahead, Scottsburg will be playing in front of their home fans against Silver Creek at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. This will be the Warriors' first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Henryville, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 2-0 victory against Paoli on the 23rd.
