Baseball Recap: Williamson Takes a Loss

Williamson was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 7-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Sugar Valley Rural Phoenix.

Christian Ling made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Weston Copp also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Williamson's defeat dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Sugar Valley Rural, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-5-1.

Coming up, Williamson will be playing in front of their home fans against Wyalusing Valley at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Warriors are facing the Rams at the right time seeing as the Rams are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Sugar Valley Rural, they are taking a road trip to take on Benton at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Phoenix's pitchers better be ready for this one: the Tigers have averaged an impressive 7.9 runs per game this season.
