Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Trinity Christian Academy couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They fell 3-1 to the Providence School Stallions on Thursday. The Conquerors' loss signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.

The defeat didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Providence School scored at least 17 points in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 21-25, 25-19, 25-17.

Despite the loss, Trinity Christian Academy saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Makenzie King had 14 digs and two assists.

Providence School was led to victory by Addison Shaw and Georgia Birkett. Shaw had 16 digs and six assists, while Birkett had nine digs and one assist. That's the most digs Shaw has posted since back in September. Caroline Collins also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assists of the season.

Trinity Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 19-8. As for Providence School, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season.

While Trinity Christian Academy had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
