Annapolis suffered their biggest defeat since December 8, 2023 on Friday. 2025 welcomed they with a 67-47 loss courtesy of the South River Seahawks. The Panthers' loss signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.

Annapolis' defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Audrey Skinner, who posted ten points and four steals. Skinner is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least three every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Mckenzie Fuller, who had nine points along with six rebounds and four steals.

Having lost for the first time this season, Annapolis fell to 5-1. As for South River, with the victory, they broke their five-game losing streak and moved their record to 3-5.

When Annapolis and South River next hit the court, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Annapolis will try to stop Severn School's four-game winning streak when the meet at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Similarly, South River will try to stop North County's five-game winning streak when the meet at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
