Basketball Recap: Center Roughriders vs. Henderson Lions
After a string of eight wins, the Center Roughriders's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They fell just short of Henderson by a score of 55-53. Center was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Lions apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January.
When it comes to explaining why Center lost, one person who can't be blamed is Lanaijha Johnson. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 18 points and 16 rebounds. Johnson is crushing the rebound category: she's posted at least eight every time she's taken the court this season. Kylie Hubbard was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with 11 rebounds.
Center's loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 21-9. As for Henderson, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 19-9.
Center does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Henderson will head out on the road to square off against the Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
