Softball Game Preview: Uxbridge Spartans vs. Hopedale Blue Raiders

The Uxbridge Spartans will venture away from home to take on the Hopedale Blue Raiders at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Uxbridge has given up an average of 9.8 runs per game this season, but Wednesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Uxbridge came into their game on Monday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against Case, falling 13-0. The Spartans haven't had much luck with the Cardinals recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Meanwhile, Hopedale lost 11-4 to Medfield on Tuesday.

Uxbridge's loss dropped their record down to 6-11. As for Hopedale, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-6.

Uxbridge got the 'W' in their previous meeting back in April against Hopedale by a conclusive 15-3 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Spartans since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
