Baseball Recap: Hampshire Comes Up Short

After flying high against Collinwood on Thursday, Hampshire came back down to earth. The Hawks lost 9-3 to the Hickman County Bulldogs on Friday. If the Hawks were looking for revenge after losing 9-5 to the Bulldogs when the teams met back in March of 2023, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Cameron Marrisett made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played.

The loss snapped Hampshire's winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 15-6 record. As for Hickman County, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 9-8.

While Hampshire had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
