Volleyball Recap: Raton Tigers vs. Tucumcari Rattlers
Raton came tearing into Saturday's match with ten straight wins , and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 3-1 win over the Tucumcari Rattlers. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-2 back in October.
Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 25-17, 22-25, 25-17.

Raton got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Addison Medina out in front who hit 100% for ten kills and ten digs and five aces. Medina has been hot for a while, having also posted 14 or more assists the last 47 times she's played. Jaylynn Quintana also deserves some recognition as she served her first ace of the season.
They weren't the only good servers: Raton was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 14 aces. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Tucumcari only served three.
Despite the defeat, Tucumcari saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Melanie Otero had 19 assists and ten digs.
Raton's record is now 18-3. As for Tucumcari, the loss snapped their winning streak at three matches and leaves them with a 10-11 record.
We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Raton will square off against rival Santa Rosa at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Tucumcari is set to face off against their familiar foe Estancia at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
