Preview: Mitchell Bluejackets vs. West Washington Senators

Mitchell is 8-1 against West Washington since December of 2014, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The Mitchell Bluejackets will head out on the road to face off against the West Washington Senators at 6:00 p.m. Mitchell comes in still looking for their first win of the season.

Last Tuesday, Mitchell suffered a tough 76-51 loss at the hands of Brown County.

Meanwhile, West Washington didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Salem last Tuesday, but they still walked away with a 36-31 victory.

West Washington's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Meredith Deaton, who scored 13 points along with 9 rebounds and 4 steals. The match was Deaton's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayla Batt, who scored 7 points along with 9 rebounds and 3 steals.

Mitchell's defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 0-8. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 23.5 points per game. As for West Washington, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season.

Mitchell didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against West Washington in their previous matchup back in January, but they still walked away with a 48-42 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Mitchell since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
