Volleyball Recap: Opp Comes Up Short

Opp was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They fell 2-0 to the Houston Academy Raiders. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Bobcats of the 3-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2022.

Carreline Spears paced Opp's offense, picking up six kills. Spears got some help from Rylie Kate Thrash and her five assists. Finally, Shayna Wiggins kept Opp's defense grounded, leading the team with two blocks.

Opp now has a losing record of 7-8. As for Houston Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 7-5.

Opp has already played their next matchup, a 2-0 win against Pike Liberal Arts on the 13th. As for Houston Academy, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 defeat against Enterprise on the 13th.
