Softball Recap: Monomoy's Undefeated Season over After 13 Games

Monomoy has relied on a stalwart pitcher averaging 3.77 runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Tuesday. They took a 10-7 hit to the loss column at the hands of the St. Mary's Spartans. The loss was the Sharks' first of the season.

Liv Sanford made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with two runs and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Kiley Mawn, who went 3-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

Having lost for the first time this season, Monomoy fell to 12-1. As for St. Mary's, they pushed their record up to 6-2 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Monomoy will take on Bourne at 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday. The Sharks are facing the Canalmen at the right time seeing as the Canalmen are stuck on a 17-game losing streak. As for St. Mary's, they will challenge Arlington Catholic at 3:00 p.m. on Friday.
