Basketball Recap: Rapides Takes a Loss

Rapides played a tough match on Monday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They took a blow against the Natchitoches Central Chiefs, falling 75-29. While losing is never fun, the Mustangs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 266th, while the Chiefs are ranked 80th).

When it comes to explaining why Rapides lost, don't look at Antwon Jones. Despite the final result, he posted three points and four blocks. Those four blocks gave Jones a new career-high.

Rapides has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season. As for Natchitoches Central, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-5.

Rapides didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 68-47 defeat against Pineville on the 17th. As for Natchitoches Central, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, an 87-43 victory against Winnfield on the 17th.
