Recap: Show Low Cougars vs. Chinle Wildcats
It was a good run, but the Show Low Cougars unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Tuesday. They took a 56-48 hit to the loss column at the hands of Chinle. Show Low was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Chinle apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2022.
Several Cougars players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Mason Bigos, who scored 12 points. Those 12 points set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Cutter Seeley, who scored nine points.
It was another big night for Jostaiah Harvey, who scored 21 points for Chinle. The matchup was Harvey's sixth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Stephan Antone, who scored ten points along with three steals.
Show Low's loss dropped their record down to 6-2. As for Chinle, their win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-3.
Show Low's road trip will continue as they head out to face Miami at 7:00 p.m. on December 21st. Miami will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Arizona Rankings (they are ranked 295th, while Show Low is ranked 115th). Chinle will be home for the holidays to greet Whitehorse at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
