Basketball Game Preview: Xavier Saints vs. Kennedy Cougars

Xavier is 1-9 against Kennedy since December of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Xavier Saints will venture away from home to face off against the Kennedy Cougars at 7:30 p.m.

Xavier is headed into the match having just suffered their biggest loss since January 3rd on Tuesday. They came up short against Dubuque Senior, falling 56-36. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Saints have suffered against the Rams since January 8, 2019.

Meanwhile, Kennedy waltzed into their contest on Tuesday with seven straight wins... but they left with eight. They really took it to the Bobcats for the full four quarters, racking up an 86-40 win. The Cougars have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten games by 23 points or more this season.

Kennedy pushed their record up to 13-3 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 30.8 points. As for Xavier, their loss dropped their record down to 11-5.

Xavier came up short against Kennedy in their previous meeting on January 7th, falling 61-49. Can Xavier avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
