Football Recap: Daivon Glover and Rylin Brunson Lead the Defense for Patrick Henry Academy Win

While Patrick Henry Academy's win against Clarendon Hall wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Patriots narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Saints 29-27. The win continues a trend for the Patriots in their matchups with the Saints: they've now won six in a row.

Rylin Brunson was nothing short of spectacular: he rushed for 128 yards and four touchdowns on only 14 carries. What's more, he racked up 58.3 passer rating, the most he's had since back in August of 2024.

Patrick Henry Academy didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Daivon Glover and Brunson.

Clarendon Hall's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Grayson Elliott, who rushed for 81 yards and one score. The Saints also got help from Josh Hodge, who showed off his sure hands for 98 receiving yards.

The victory got Patrick Henry Academy back to even at 1-1. As for Clarendon Hall, they are on a 12-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Patrick Henry Academy will take on Beaufort Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Patriots will need to watch out since the Eagles have now posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season. As for Clarendon Hall, they will challenge Williamsburg Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
