Recap: La Porte Slicers vs. Hanover Central Wildcats

The La Porte Slicers lost against the Hanover Central Wildcats back in December of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. La Porte ended up on the wrong side of a tough 56-30 walloping at the hands of Hanover Central. While losing is never fun, La Porte can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 333rd, while Hanover Central is ranked 114th).

Gabi Comia was the offensive standout of the match as she scored 14 points along with nine steals and six rebounds. Those nine steals set a new season-high mark for her. Emmi Doty was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with three steals.

La Porte's defeat was their 17th straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 2-13. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 22.5 points per game. As for Hanover Central, they have been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season.

Coincidentally, La Porte and Hanover Central will both be playing Marquette Catholic the next time they take the court. La Porte will head out to face Marquette Catholic at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday, while Hanover Central will host them at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday.
