Volleyball Recap: East Rowan Takes a Loss

If East Rowan was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Jay M. Robinson on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Mustangs came up short against the Carson Cougars on Thursday, falling 3-0. The defeat continues a trend for the Mustangs in their meetings with the Cougars: they've now lost seven in a row.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 25-12, 25-15.

Despite the loss, East Rowan still got an impressive performance from Jordan Dry, who had 17 digs. Dry is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 11 or more in each of the last five games she's played.

Carson's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Alana Herring, who had ten digs and one assist. The team also got some help courtesy of Carmen Graham, who had ten digs.

East Rowan now has a losing record of 4-5. As for Carson, they pushed their record up to 10-2 with the win, which was their 17th straight at home dating back to last season.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. East Rowan is set to square off against their familiar foe Salisbury at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Carson will challenge rival Northwest Cabarrus at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
