Wayne extended the longest winning streak in A District 5 this week by beating Cross Christian Academy, 49-6. The victory was the seventh in a row for the team.
Wynnewood took down Caddo 84-8 last week, the largest margin of any game. Jace Brown threw for 147 yards and two touchdowns and ran for 56 yards in the win.
The Savages' offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. On the ground Trey Knowles chipped in 128 yards. Gus Reinert helped Wynnewood's passing attack out by catching two balls for 20 yards.
Pete Carter was the best wideout in the league this week as Wynnewood beat the Bruins. Carter racked up two receptions for 68 yards.
Brad O'Steen's team's Brown and Carter have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Brown has thrown for 873 yards this season, while Carter, a 5-foot-10 receiver, has 11 catches for 363 yards. Wewoka's derrick jacene leads the league in rushing yards with 852.
A big matchup in A District 5 this week will be when the Savages take on Stratford. Wynnewood is in first place, while the Bulldogs are in fourth place.
