Basketball Recap: Oregon Comes Up Short

Oregon lost against Genoa-Kingston back in December of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Oregon Hawks fell 49-41 to the Genoa-Kingston Cogs. The Hawks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

When it comes to explaining why Oregon lost, don't look at Ella Dannhorn. Despite the final result, she went 6 of 13 en route to 14 points. What's more, Dannhorn also racked up three assists, the most she's had since back in December of 2023. Aniyah Sarver was another key player, putting up eight points.

Oregon's loss dropped their record down to 10-14. As for Genoa-Kingston, their win bumped their record up to 15-11.

Oregon wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 43-29 victory against North Boone on the 6th. As for Genoa-Kingston, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 66-48 win against Indian Creek on the 3rd.
