Basketball Game Preview: Utica Redskins vs. Centerburg Trojans

The Utica Redskins will challenge the Centerburg Trojans at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Utica is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They came out on top against Lakewood by a score of 66-54 on Thursday. Given the Redskins' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 243rd, while the Lancers are ranked 599th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Centerburg hadn't done well against Danville recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. Centerburg breezed by Danville to the tune of 55-28. The Trojans have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 matchups by 20 points or more this season.

Centerburg pushed their record up to 12-1 with the win, which was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 27.7 points. As for Utica, they have been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season.
