Softball Recap: Agape Christian Knights vs. Meridian Bobcats
Agape Christian won the last time they faced Meridian, and things went their way on Friday too. Everything went the Agape Christian Knights' way against the Meridian Bobcats as the Agape Christian Knights made off with a 14-4 victory.
Summerlee Elders was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over six innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits. Elders was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 1-for-4.
In other batting news, Agape Christian got a massive performance out of McKenlee Miller, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 4-for-4. Lilly Frick was another key contributor, scoring four runs and stealing three bases while going 3-for-3.
On Meridian's side, Lailah Hite was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.
Agape Christian pushed their record up to 2-0 with that win, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Meridian, they have not been sharp recently as the team has lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season.
