East Duplin and Seaforth squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but East Duplin had to settle for second. They lost 53-32 to the Seaforth Hawks. The Panthers' defeat signaled the end of their 16-game winning streak.

Leading Seaforth to victory were Gabrielle White and Katherine Leonard. White dropped a double-double with 21 points and ten boards, while Leonard posted 16 points and three steals. The game was White's sixth in a row with at least 16 points. Another player making a difference was Abigail Morgan, who scored five points and five rebounds.

East Duplin's loss dropped their record down to 25-3. As for Seaforth, the win (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 28-2.

East Duplin does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Seaforth, they have already played their next contest, a 48-45 defeat against Southeast Alamance on the 13th.
