Baseball Game Preview: Chaffey Tigers vs. Montclair Cavaliers

For the second straight game, Chaffey will face off against Montclair. The Tigers will square off against the Cavaliers at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.

Chaffey's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. They came out on top against Montclair by a score of 3-0. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Not much got past Jacob Venegas, who gave up just four hits and racked up eight Ks to keep Montclair off the board. Venegas has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Jaden Resendez was excellent, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one RBI.

Chaffey is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-7 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Montclair, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-11.
