League recap: Meskwaki Settlement scores huge upset over Tri-County

The biggest upset of the week belonged to Tri-County, who took down 50th ranked Tri-County, 52-20.

H-L-V extended the longest winning streak in 8-Man District 5 (8 Man) this week by beating Wayne, 63-20. The victory was the eighth in a row for the Warriors.

Tri-County's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Trojans feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Nick Watts has thrown for 655 yards and six touchdowns this season, while Spencer Steinke has 20 catches for 350 yards. Jake Brumbaugh leads the league in rushing with 141 yards.

A big matchup in the league this week will be when Meskwaki Settlement takes on Melcher-Dallas. Meskwaki Settlement is in fifth place, while the Saints are in second place.

The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when Harmony takes on H-L-V. The Rockets have allowed zero points this season, while Kevin Smith's team has given up 105.

Melcher-Dallas was able to crack the Top 25 in the state rankings this week after a bye. C. Petersen's team came in at 25 in the state poll after placing at number 27 last week.
