Soccer Recap: Hoggard Comes Up Short

After flying high against Asheboro on Friday, Hoggard came back down to earth. The Vikings fell just short of the Ardrey Kell Knights by a score of 3-2 on Saturday. Both teams had to tread carefully at times as the refs weren't afraid to hand out yellow cards: Harrison Dyer was handed one for Hoggard, while Ardrey Kell got theirs courtesy of Ahmed Shibeika.

Sawyer Ingham and Dyer scored both of Hoggard's goals, bringing their combined season tally to three goals.

Hoggard's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Ardrey Kell, they now have a winning record of 1-0-1.

Looking ahead, Hoggard is packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game of the season: they will challenge Holly Springs at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Ardrey Kell, they will challenge Chapel Hill at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
