Baseball Recap: Vandalia Christian Comes Up Short

If Vandalia Christian was riding high fresh off their 12-1 takedown of Gospel Light Christian last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Vandalia Christian Vikings came up short against the Alamance Christian Warriors on Friday, falling 12-4. The loss was the Vikings' first of the season.

Vandalia Christian saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Chase Brown, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Vandalia Christian's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 3-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Alamance Christian, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Vandalia Christian will head out to face off against Tabernacle Christian at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Alamance Christian, they will venture away from home to take on Union Grove Christian at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
