Volleyball Recap: Buena Comes Up Short

It was a good run, but Buena unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell just short of the Catalina Foothills Falcons by a score of 3-2. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Falcons this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 last Thursday.

Buena took Catalina Foothills into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking four-point loss. The final score came out to 17-25, 25-17, 25-12, 18-25, 15-11.

Roddick Alvarez paced Buena's offense, picking up seven kills. Alvarez got some help from Alan Marturello and his 17 assists. Kade Spilsbury controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Buena's loss dropped their record down to 10-14. As for Catalina Foothills, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 25-11 record this season.

As of now, neither Buena nor Catalina Foothills have any future games scheduled.
