Baseball Game Preview: Patriot Warriors vs. Fontana Steelers

The Patriot Warriors will challenge the Fontana Steelers at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Patriot will be strutting in after a win while Fontana will be coming in after a loss.

Having struggled with four defeats in a row, Patriot turned things around against JW North on Saturday. They came out on top against the Huskies by a score of 5-1. That looming 5-1 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Warriors yet this season.

The team relied heavily on Dustin Thayer, who scored two runs while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. He has become a key player for Patriot: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 1-4 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Noah Leon, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Patriot hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post two or more strikeouts.

Meanwhile, Fontana came up short against Banning on Saturday and fell 6-1. The Steelers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Fontana saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Fernando Padilla, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

Fontana's loss dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Patriot, the victory got them back to even at 4-4.
