Volleyball Recap: Azle Victorious

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Chisholm Trail, Azle was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They skirted past the Granbury Pirates 3-2. For the Hornets, this counts as revenge for the 3-2 win the Pirates walked away with the last time they faced one another on October 1st.

Azle was actually outscored in aggregate across those five sets (106-100), but they still managed to win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 10-25, 25-27, 25-23, 15-12.

Jacqui Mcclain paced Azle's offense, picking up 27 kills. Mcclain got some help from Miley Massey and her 48 assists. Finally, Massey was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high two blocks.

Azle's record now sits at 24-14. As for Granbury, their defeat dropped their record down to 24-20.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Azle will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Saginaw at 6:00 p.m. Azle is facing Saginaw at the right time seeing as Saginaw is stuck on an eight-game losing streak. As for Granbury, they will square off against Brewer at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
