Volleyball Recap: Dickinson Gators vs. Needville Bluejays
Dickinson lost against Needville back in September of 2019, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Gators fell just short of the Bluejays by a score of 2-1.
In an exciting match in which no team claimed back-to-back wins, Dickinson sadly wound up on the wrong side. The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 19-25, 25-13.
Rebecca Ajong paced Dickinson's offense, picking up 13 kills. Ajong got some help from Angela Allen and her 20 assists. Bailey Whitten controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.
Dickinson's loss dropped their record down to 6-6. As for Needville, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 13-2.
Looking ahead, Dickinson will head out on the road to square off against La Porte at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The Gators are facing the Bulldogs at the right time seeing as the Bulldogs are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Needville, they will venture away from home to face off against St. John XXIII at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The last four games the Lions have played have been within one set, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
